    Samsung Galaxy M52 5G

Samsung has released the Android 12 update to couple more devices. The Galaxy A90 5G and Galaxy M52 5G are both now receiving the big Android update, complete with the Korean brand’s One UI 4.1. The initial release is limited to certain regions but it shouldn’t be long before the rollout goes global.

As of this writing, the Galaxy A90 5G is receiving the Android 12 update in Samsung’s homeland South Korea. The new firmware version for this 2019 premium mid-range smartphone is A908NKSU4EVC1. This should be the last major Android OS update for the phone. It arrived with Android 9 Pie and has received updates to Android 10, Android 11, and now Android 12. Samsung recently promised four major Android OS updates for its select phones but the Galaxy A90 5G doesn’t qualify for that.

The Galaxy M52 5G, on the other hand, is receiving its first major update. Launched last September with Android 11 onboard, the mid-ranger is now picking up Android 12 in India. The updated firmware version for this phone is M526BXXU1BVC6. It should get at least one more Android OS update in the future (android 13) if not more.

Galaxy A90 5G and Galaxy M52 5G are directly receiving One UI 4.1

Samsung’s initial Android 12 rollout came with One UI 4.0. But with the launch of the Galaxy S22 series last month, the Korean brand also introduced version 4.1 of its custom Android software. The company is currently in the process of rolling out the new One UI version to its eligible devices. And to make things easier, it has integrated One UI 4.1 with the original Android 12 build for devices that hadn’t received it yet. The Galaxy A90 5G and Galaxy M52 5G are both directly receiving this bundled package.

One UI 4.0 already brings a plethora of new features and enhancements to galaxy devices. The latest iteration further adds some goodies, including a bunch of camera features. Most of these should trickle down to the Galaxy A90 5G and Galaxy M52 5G.

Along with the host of new features, the latest update for these two phones also includes the March 2022 Android security patch. This month’s SMR (security maintenance release) contains fixes for over 50 vulnerabilities.

If you’re using either of these Samsung phones, you should be receiving the Android 12-based One UI 4.1 update very soon. Watch out for a notification once the OTA (over the air) release reaches your country. Since these updates are rolled out in batches, it could take a few days for the OTA package to show up for your phone. You can manually check for it from the Settings app, under the Software update menu.
